Kwanzaa, is the name given to the seven day Pan African holiday founded by an American, DR. MAULANA KARENGA in the 60s. It is a holiday inspired by traditional African culture and to celebrate the First Fruits Festival

The holiday lasts 7 days and each day is based on a principle (Nguzo Saba) that can be discussed.

Each day a candle on the Kinara is lit and on the last day a feast is had.
